On this rainy day in December I want to take a moment to pay my respects to Humphrey. He was a good and faithful pig, forever complaining when his food was not served on time or in generous enough proportions. Always reminding me that being on time and a meeting his needs was my most important job. Petting and loving were mandatory and activities relating to health and hygiene were not to be tolerated without indignant squeals.
He left us for greener pastures on a cold November morning after a short illness. He will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister Hazel. His human parents Gerald and Jan, human siblings Jill, Ashley, and the littlest homesteader (Rose). Step siblings include: a pair of geese (Gossie & Gertie), nine goats (George, Martha, Annie, Lollie Pop, Lumos, Nox, Summer, Eva, and Violet), one cat (Mollie), three dogs (Olivia, Tatiana, and Coco) and multiple chickens.
